Spinning a Yarn

Friday Fictioneers – Write a 100-word story based on the Photo Prompt image above by  © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

Spinning a Yarn

Polly had her usual site at the market, sitting in the morning sun as it peeped over the hills beyond. This was her favourite market, and the foot traffic was always steady with locals and visitors.  She was a familiar face to the stall holders and customers and was always popular for her unique wares.

“I’d like that rainbow blend and one of your best yarns, please.”

The onlookers grew. Polly told a story as she spun, each one as original as the hank itself.

The hank was finished, the story was told, and smiles were wide. Money well-spun and spent!

    1. Thanks, James. I thought of someone spinning which is very common here in Warwick, especially at this time of year, and being a storyteller at the same time 🙂 Takes multitasking to next level!
