The Stopover

Meg normally loved markets, but her travel-weary body was demanding sleep. The cars, clatter, and chatter of the daily early morning marketers outside her accommodation as they set up at 4 am, wasn’t helping. Her room was one floor up, the noise scrambling her search for calm.

Do a stopover in Singapore, they said. Break the trip, they said.  Admittedly, it was a long haul from London to Singapore via Dubai. The flight was packed and squishy in cattle class, but this was worse. When choosing where to stay, annoyingly the few reviews were by those not seeking sleep!
