Storm in a Teacup

“There goes the whale-watching trip.” Jen sighed.

The storm was a wild scene from the hotel’s lounge window.

“The storm’s not forecast to last long.”  Mum sipped her tea.

“That La Nina thing is stuffing up our holiday.”

“Can we rebook for this afternoon?”

“The whales don’t play much then, It’ll be boring.”

“We’re on the Sunshine Coast…where’s the sun…?”

Dad checked the Lotto numbers on his phone. He caught his wife’s eye and raised his brows. He sent her a text, to avoid hysteria from the kids.

“Dad, what’s the plan?”

“I’ll think of something,” he grinned.

      1. We were very disappointed, but the weather does what it does on the coast. The whales will play regardless, just no audience. We went another year and saw them but we went in the afternoon, they are far less playful, more sleepy!
