Friday Fictioneers – Write a 100-word story based on the Photo Prompt image above by © Amanda Forestwood
Spellbound
Liam sipped his wine at the Chinese restaurant and reflected on the day. The ride in the rickshaw was awesome, The drivers had taken them on a short tour beside the river.
Near their table, the sign read – ‘Please don’t climb on or lean against the wall divider’.
“Who would climb on it? It would collapse.”
“Wee people, perhaps, Fairies are everywhere.”
“Not here though!”
“Of course, they’ll be after fortune cookies for their spells.” Caitlin winked.
“Don’t be ridiculous!’
There was a sparkly, tiny movement. “Quick!” Aurora’s wings blurred at high speed, “if the waitress sees us, it’s game over!”
Thanks for reading
This is a combo of rickshaws and boiled rice…last night’s meal out was at a Chinese restaurant which had a wall divider with a sign on it saying not to climb or lean against it. My first thought was how tiny would one have to be to climb on it?? Naturally, my imagination went riot. But my braised king prawns were delicious and untouched by fairy mischief!

Nice one, Fleur. A little chinese, a touch of comedy and a peak into a fantasy world all in one neat package. Well done.

Thanks, Mason. The Chinese meal prompted me to work it into the prompt. And Aurora was itching to be involved!

Aurora may be speaking to another of her folk. But I rather hope she’s speaking to Caitlin

Thanks so much, Neil. With Caitlin so in tune with fairies, no doubt she’ll be on the right wavelength with Aurora 😉🧚♀️

Enchanting story, Fleur, and love that it was based on a real happening.

Thanks so much, Jade. It all seemed to match up. Next time I’m in that restaurant I’ll take a photo of the sign! Thr rickshaws were a good way to start the tale.

Thank you so much, Linda. I was hoping it wasn’t over blended with culture, restaurants and fairies. And yes, we are mulitcultural, the fairies need to be included too 🙂
Aurora is my leading fairy character, she likes to pop up whenever she can.
