I’ve been itching to write a rant or three. I have been storing up reasons for a good rant, and here is the first in the queue.. it’s a sticky sweet one.
So at the fabulous Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers last weekend, among the events happening all over Toowoomba and possibly the region, we attended the Market Day. https://tcof.com.au/
The weather was perfect for wandering. There was no rush; you could take in the stalls and all there was to choose from. We spied a honey stall. I always have honey in the pantry. I love it on toast, in a lemon drink, or fruity tea, or just straight off the spoon for my daily dose of honey goodness. So I was drawn to the stall to check out the local honey displayed on the table. I was offered a taste that the seller had scooped onto an ice block stick. It was delicious, and it was an easy sale. No pitch was needed to extract a few dollars from my bag. So the only decision was – do I get a squeezy, a jar, or a tub? I called the squeezy a squirty, but it was still great honey.
So with my soul smiling with delicious honey and as I thanked the bee population for all their hard work in creating my honey, I found out why honey samples were offered on either a stick or a plastic spoon. Never on a metal spoon, as it affects the nutrients and enzymes that contribute to making honey such a wonder food. There are lots of other cool honey facts to google if you wish.
Meanwhile, here’s a fun, sweet tune to finish or start your day with…https://youtu.be/3db4PsKWLDU?si=E8fVxvx7Zqnbr_De
