Friday Fictioneers – Write a 100-word story based on the Photo Prompt image above by © Dale Rogersen
Queenie, so nicknamed after her Gran
Sat by the pool applying cream to her tan.
The pool was tempting, but her book lured her in more
What would the next chapter have in store?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She’d met a hotel guest, who loved to have a good read
They’d openly aired their problems; he’d sounded in need.
Of advice which Queenie was happy to give
He was a sad soul losing his will to live.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her book was paused by a tap on the shoulder
When a bartender offered a tray
Of a cocktail and note simply saying
‘Thanks for saving my life yesterday.’
Thanks for reading – and thanks to Rochelle for another #FF prompt.

Now that is a beautiful story, Fleur. Nicely done.

Hey, at least you respond, The ones I cannot abide is those who don’t bother acknowledging a comment and never reciprocate. So you are fabulous!

What was he reading?
Having an uplifting chat apparently help save his sould.
Lovey poem.

Maybe he was reading a very emotive book or maybe he was just feeling sad about his life. But their chat worked wonders. Sometimes that’s all it takes 😊

This is clever. Begins with the simple image of sitting by the pool with a good book, but quickly reveals a hidden melancholy and the revelation of a life saved yesterday. Well done, Fleur

Is that the prelude to a move, I wonder? Or am I just cynical?
