Friday Fictioneers – Write a 100-word story based on the Photo Prompt image above by © © Dale Rogerson
The best man and bridesmaid had taken a cheeky spin in the groom’s car…
“Well, that’s great. The Flux capacitor what-not just shat itself and that yellow button is flashing. The ‘abort now’ sign is glowing as well. What did we do wrong?”
“No idea. We’ll just have to drive. I know of an old tunnel. It’ll get us back before anyone notices the car is missing.”
“A tunnel?” Evie was wide-eyed.
“Yeah, it linked up with a motorway, back in the day.”
“A motorway? Sounds archaic.”
“We better get a move on if we’re not flying..”
What do we tell Oliver? They want it for their honeymoon.”
This story changed direction a few times, but it’s a tongue-in-cheek look at a future with flying cars. A drive in the groom’s car before the guests arrived didn’t go as planned.
Thanks for reading

You didn’t have to explain your story, Fleur, it came through loud and clear in this wonderful write! Nicely done. 🙂

Ohhh my bad. Sometimes I think I might be the only one who gets it. Thank you, Dale 🙂

Don’t be silly. And what’s fun is when you see how others interpret your story. Sometimes they see something you never expect and it’s fun. I was just told by David Stewart what he was thinking when he wrote his and he was saying it’s one of the fun things about FF. 🙂

Yes that’s how I feel about FF. So many ideas from an image 🙂 it’s an addictive way to write!

Cheeky groomsman and bridesmaid, for sure! Hopefully, the archaic way of just driving through the tunnel gets them back on time. Entertaining tale!

I hope they can beat the clock! Maybe the bride and groom will appreciate the value of a good wedding story… 🙂

Ohh I’m sure that would be good fodder for a speech from the Best Man. That would make a fun sequel 😉
Thanks so much, Angela 😊

Dear Fleur,
I wonder how close we might be to flying cars. Hope they make it back in time for the wedding.

I wonder, indeed. I think cars are already far too techy, so any advancements are going to make shudder. My car has a reversing camera, that’s enough for me!
Thanks so much, Rochelle 😊

Can you just imagine the madness of flying cars? Drivers are bad enough now!
Good take, Fleur!
