Moving In
Simon was ecstatic as he took in the cosy ambiance of the lounge.
The armchairs were comfortable, and the sun would send a prism of light through the window, warming the room. It was a bonus seeing the comings and goings of the shared driveway.
This will do perfectly! he sighed contentedly. The door burst open, popping his bubble of euphoria.
“This room is a real catch, the gem of the manor, really.” The tall, prim lady said in a hoity-toity voice.
Unseen so far, Simon moved his two-metre body slickly under the chair.
“This is perfect! We’ll take it!”
That’s what you think…Simon hissed.
It’s that time of year again, down here…Spring is warming up, the snakes have woken and want to stretch, drink, warm up, mate, and eat. After a long sleep through winter, who wouldn’t? Simon is no exception, and he has been touring the real estate market, looking for the perfect spot in which to do what he does best. Unfortunately, he might have to share…
Simon is a brown snake, venomous and protected, and knows it. You can read more of Simon’s adventures here.

Two metres? Yikes!

Dear Fleur,
I don’t think I’d care to cohabit with Simon. 😉 Nicely done and even nicer to see you back.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Thank you so much, Rochelle 😊 I don’t think I’d want Simon as a roomie either. 🐍😉

Fleur your story downright creeped me out, especially the hiss at the end. Somebody, please warn them!

I tend to do that…reveal the identity of the MC at the end. Maybe I should do a wee warning before reading 📚 🤔
