Kicking Tyres
“This boot is driving me nuts.”
“I know.”
“It’s overkill! I want to chuck it out the window!”
“Yes…”
“I only kicked my car tyre, it wasn’t that bad…”
“You’ve fractured two tiny bones, Mum.”
“So the x-ray said. But I shouldn’t have to wear this heavy, annoying thing.”
The Doctor said you do. Is that comfortable? Not too tight?” Liz fastened the last velcro strap.
“It’s horrible!” Marg pouted.
“Marg! Stop moaning! I can’t hear the cricket commentary!” Bob snapped.
“Dad’s right.”
“Out for a duck!” Bob clapped.
“He better not be talking about me!” Marg glared.
Thanks for reading
I don’t think Marg is going to be a graceful invalid

You’re right, she’s grumpy as hell! Her daughter of mature age is copping the brunt of it.

Dear Fleur,
Marge doesn’t sound like the most pleasant person to be around in the best of circumstances. Nicely done and I learned a new phrase.

I was modelling Marge on someone I know who had to wear a moonboot for 3 weeks. I was one of several CWs who put it on/took it off. But Marge is definitely more grumpy that that person!

I see where she learned her impatience from! Funny story only because it’s fiction 🙂

Thank you, I’m trying to do different moods for my MCs. Sometimes it adds to the story if they are less than jolly.

Thanks so much. It was fun to write. I know someone who wore one and sounded just like that.
